Enlisted in the Royal Air Force September 1948 as National Serviceman

1949 signed on for regular Service

Served in the Radio Engineering Branch of the RAF as a  Ground Radar Fitter. Employed as a Demonstrator of Radar and Radio aids to navigation at a station in Wiltshire. Served 2 years in Malaya as an Instructor of Radar Engineering with the Malayan Auxialiary Air Force and a member of a team responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Radar Stations in the Far East Command

Length of service - 5 1/2 years

Awarded Malayan General Service Medal
